Conclusion

This study compared shockwave and sham therapy in 30 patients. Significant improvements were noted at all time points after shockwave therapy: at 12 weeks there was a 276 per cent increase in pain-free walking distance and a 167 per cent improvement in maximum walking distance. There were no safety concerns.
