Conclusion

In 375 patients undergoing counselling to help quit smoking, the addition of e-cigarettes containing nicotine (compared to those without nicotine)improved abstinence after 12 weeks (21.9 versus 9.1 per cent), but not 24 weeks (20.5 versus 9.9 per cent).
