Conclusion

Conversion to open surgery was needed in 8/34 laparoscopic procedures. The laparoscopic approach took longer (median 486 vs 365 min, P=0.0001), but complications were fewer (P=0.04) and duration of hospital stay was shorter (median 13.5 versus 17 days, P=0.024) in this study of 66 procedures.
