Editorial podcast: May 2017 (volume 104, issue 6)
Jonothan Earnshaw, Editor-in-Chief, discusses the contents of the latest issue of BJS, including the article entitled 'Textbook outcome as a composite measure in oesophagogastric cancer surgery' from the Dutch Upper Gastrointestinal Cancer Audit (DUCA) Group, which used a national database and reported that most patients didn't achieve the textbook outcome but there was wide variation between hospitals. Does this metric have a use? He also reveals his personal favourite Paper of the Month - an article he believes has the potential to make the biggest difference to clinical practice. Click on the link to find out which paper he's referring to.
